Typical Routine
This is a break down of what we typically do each class. We don’t expect students to know or be able to perform any of these moves. Beginner students focus on learning and understanding the mechanics, and intermediate students should be able to start refining the moves by adding speed and power.
- Warm ups — A few minutes of warm ups get the blood going and prepare you for stretching.
- Stretching — An essential part of any exercise, stretching helps reduce injury and gives you the ability to perform more difficult moves.
- Stances — Stance work builds a solid foundation by strengthening your legs and improving your posture.
- Drills — Kicking, jumping, and balance drills help condition your body for better endurance and offer an opportunity to practice increasing your speed and power.
- Individual practice — everyone works on a specific form or technique and can get help from the instructor.
